King mackerel

Scomberomorus cavalla

Description:

medium-sized fish, typically encountered from five to 30 pounds, but is known to exceed 90 pounds

Habitat:

coastal waters

Notes:

Fish spottings are the most difficult for me. I don't fish or dive or do much snorkelling so when I passed a local fisherman with his catch of the day, I had to take some photos. I was walking the final segment of the Waitukubuli national trail which hugs the coast when I spotted this guy with 2 fish. I walked past him but then thought I should see what he caught and went back.
