Gray-backed Bumblebee

Description:

A medium sized bumblebee with short gray "fur" on its thorax. The abdomen appeared "hairless" and had light and dark carmel colored bands. The legs were a hairy yellow to yellow-brown. The wings were black.

Habitat:

This bee was seen on my (sweaty??) backpack laying on the beach of the Makuma River in the Amazon rainforest of SE Ecuador.
