Very bumpy shell, snapped at cat, bumpy tail, felt scaly

Creek

Notes:

Cat was messing with something in the creek and he jumped. Went over to look and found this.

And we do have musk turtles

I can't tell a big difference and in fulton we only have snappers and sliders and maybe like 2 box

Not true. In Missouri you actually have 17 species of turtles, ranging from terrestrial box turtles, to pond turtles like painted, map or red eared turtles. You also have soft shell turtles, musk and mud turtles, and two species of snapper.

The only species that really let off any stink and are small are the musk turtles.

Oh I thought that it was an alligator one since the only turtles we have here are small skinny ones

This is actually a common snapping turtle, and not an alligator snapper
