There is no such thing as a Red-bellied Slider. It looks way too large and the carapace does not look right to be a Painted Turtle, but I guess that would be the best guess.

This is not a Box Turtle. This is a pond turtle, a Cooter of some sort. My guess is River Cooter, although you are out of range for all Cooter species. It is very possible it was a released pet or that Cooters have made their way up into the Great Lakes and it just hasn't been documented well yet.
