Gymnopilus
A nice orange-tinged fungi. Gills attach to stem. Top of cap is dry.
Growing out of a pile of garden mulch, directly next to a pond. Surrounded by native vegetation, including allocasurina, hakea and melaleuca. The pond is fed by a re-directed waterway, and is part of a natural water cachement. The pond is home to many types of waterbirds.
These two fungus were found on an aged pile of garden mulch.
