Blue-winged Teal

Anas discors

Description:

I believe this is a Blue Teal-Winged Duck, but I need help with confirmation. A white vertical band runs near its beak, and both wings display shimmering colors of silver, white and teal.

Habitat:

Wetlands and water-ways.

Notes:

This bird was seen at an extremely dry Cheyenne Bottoms. Less than 1% of the wetlands had water during the Spring of 2013.
