Description:

Black wings. Somewhat ashy colour on neck, chest and shoulders. Stout, black beak and legs.

Habitat:

This is a very common urban bird in India. This one was on the ledge above my window.

Notes:

This is an intelligent bird. Shows social behavior when it finds food. Good parents too. A scavenger, it eats almost everything...perhaps a helping presence that keeps our cities a tad bit cleaner than these would be without them. Harsh cawing call.
