Looks like an eastern cottonwood. If you go to the Wikipedia reference I posted, ignore the distribution map. Instead, go to the PLANTS national database page (http://plants.usda.gov/core/profile?symb...) to see a better map of the tree's distribution. The overall shape of the leaves looks correct. Check the petioles (the leaf stems). Are they flattened rather than round? If so, it's a cottonwood.
