red wing blackbird

Agelaius phoeniciceus

Description:

I believe this is a Red-Winged Blackbird, but I'm not sure if this is the correct name.

Habitat:

Cheyenne Bottoms, Kansas. Wetlands and Prairie.

Notes:

These are very common in Kansas during the summer. There were quite a few at the very dry wetlands of Cheyenne Bottoms this late spring (2013).
