There is a mission for signs of animals and you could put it there. As it was likely made by an insect, you would put it in the arthropods category; perhaps some insect expert can give you more guidance on what it could have been. So that's what it is? Should I take it off project Noah or not? Again, it's not living.
It's likely the way beetle larvae carved beneath the bark, when it still had bark.
