Libellula croceipennis
Males are birght red and females are a dull orange. Size is Length 54-59 mm. Wings amber/brown streaked, but the amber wash does not extend beyond the nodus (Nodus is located in the center of the leading edge). Females have a wide flange near the tip of their abdomen. The females fly in circles, laying one egg at a time and the flange creates a splash to distract fish.
