Argia apicalis
Most males are recognized by their solid blue thorax, while a few may show a single black lateral stripe. Females range from blue like the males through various shades of muted gray or brown.
A. apicalis was found at a large shallow drainage pond. It likes rivers and streams, less often lakes and ponds. More typical of larger, muddier rivers than smaller streams. Often associated with woodland, but trees are not essential.
