Description:

looks like a metallic ladybird on first glance in both shape and size. A beautifully metallic red colour with a bluey green head and abdomen. The forewings when closed form an approximately equilateral triangle on the upperside.

Habitat:

found on the edge of meadows at Sprotborough flash, a natural reserve owned by the Yorkshire wildlife trust.

You're right injica it does :-) it was only tiny though and I had no macro lens with me but the reference link shows it brilliantly!
