Azure damselfly

Description:

A brilliantly blue damselfly around 33cm in length. Differentiated from the common blue by the flat bottomed U on the second section of the abdomen. There were several of these and also some female blue taileds on just one patch of nettles in the sun.

Habitat:

seen at Old Moor reserve on a patch of nettles near a marshy area. Owned by the RSPB
