Fun fact! The Jackson's or three-horned chameleon uses its eyes independently, staying immobile and waiting for prey to cross its path. When it spots prey, both eyes converge so it can pinpoint the distance with the precision of a sniper. Prey is captured by projecting the tongue, which has a fleshy tip covered with sticky saliva, and then brought back into the mouth, chewed and swallowed. The tongue, one and a half times the lizard's length, can reach full length in a sixteenth of a second.

The species is endemic to East Africa but has been introduced into Hawaii and California.
