wild azalea

Rhododendron periclymenoides

• Height: 2-7 feet Flower size: 1-1/2 to 2 inches across • Flower color: pink • Flowering time: April to May • Origin: native

• Habitat: woods, thickets, swamp margins

As a child, I used to call this honeysuckle, but then I was corrected many years later that it is actually an azalea. I loved this spring flowering tree. It was always one of my favorites.
