Catochrysops Strabo
They are found in Peninsular India south of the outer ranges of the Himalayas; Sri Lanka; Assam ; Burma; Tenasserim; the Andamans; Nicobars; extending through the Malayan Subregion down to Australia.
A common butterfly throughout the island, especially at elevations below 3500 feet. It is seen throughout the year but is more common towards the end of monsoons in the dry zone of low mid elevations. Its habitat includes open fields, scrub jungle, forest paths, grass lands and hedges along fences in cultivated areas.
