Lepiota cepaestipes (onion stalked lepiota)

Description:

clusters of small white caps with white granular spots that brush off easily. Cap brown at center with distinct umbo. Cap is about 1 inch to 1 1/4 inch in diameter. Small stem same color as cap 2 to 3 inches tall.

Habitat:

In wood chips among "little brown mushrooms" in Prospect Park, Brooklyn

produced a white spore print

the powderiness reminds me of the onion-stalked lepiota. there were some growing in a crown heights lawn just a few weeks ago, big clusters of them.
