Mycena sp.
About 20mm tall, copper coloured caps merging to white margin. Gills were simple, adnexed, clean white (matching the striations visible near the margin?).
Nature reserve in suburbia.
I have seen these three times now and always on River redgum (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) Yet to search for species... maybe particular to this timber? Maybe a mycena?

Ha! Thanks Antonio. I understand your feelings. Although the fungi can be very frustrating to identify I miss them too when they are not around. Hope you have a great season. They must be coming soon because ours are vanishing. I think they go through the earth and pop out on the cool side. 8-]

I really have a wierd interest for parasites my self, unfortunately most of them prefer to live inside the human body and makes it hard to take pictures :) But one day perhaps...
Thanks Gerardo and Noel. Putting 3 to 1 for a while then :)
Nice series i like the last shot :)
What a beautiful series, Mark.
Hi Tiz. Just over a year ago I didn't think much of them either. But a whole kingdom different from plants and animals became just too interesting. It might be Mycetozoa next... even weirder 8-]
There Mark, you made me take one step closer to the world of loving Fungi! Very nice photos! (Still have a few more steps to go though :) )
