Bearberry

Arctostaphylos sp.

Description:

Small ovate shaped leaf, larger at tip than at base in small groups, with blossoms hanging from tip of branch in groups of what looks like five or six, did not count (sorry). very small leaves about the size of a dime but oval. Blossoms were pink at tip with white bulbous body above the tip always hanging downward (drooping).

Habitat:

swamp marsh area nearby on road near pine lake on Tamarac NWR. maple dominate hardwood forest with many aspen too.
