Description:

This insect was feeding on Chinese lantern plants. Adults are black with two lines crossing the wings, ranging from red to orange in color. They reach a length of 8–10 mm.

Habitat:

In my garden, Fort Worth, Texas.

Notes:

All the eaten marks in the background of the picture are mainly by long legged flies.
