I captured this Black Racer mating and in full shed. The brilliant blue eyes stood out with the grey skin. This one is the male. The female didn't stick around to have her photos taken. I guess she was camera shy. This one was a little over 5 feet in length.

Hi Alina, The question isn't silly at all. When a snake sheds its skin, The eyes will turn to a milky color also known as herpetoculturists. It is caused by the secretion coming between the outer and under layers of skin loosening the outer layer of skin.
what a great shot! this may be a silly question -- but how come its eyes are so blue? are they always like that? they look incredible.
