Fascinating observation, I am a fish expert myself, living in Hawaii. I only get to see "exotic" animal like deer when I travel. Thanks!

The large white rump with a black-tipped tail makes these mule deer. A white-tailed deer only shows white on the rump when the tail is raised :)
