Four-spotted Skimmer

Libellula quadrimaculata

Description:

Medium-sized dragonfly, triangular-shaped abdomen, thorax and abdomen mostly brown with yellow spots, black spots on tips and half of the wings, leading margin of the wings yellowish, transparent wings.

Habitat:

One of the most common dragonfly in Canada. Usually found in bogs and close to slow rivers. Unusually spotted in town!
