Description:

Family: Erebidae. Subfamily: Arctiinae, Tribe: Arctiini (Tiger Moths) A common orange moth with faint brown lines and black spots. Abdomen is orange with black spots. Total length: 24-33 mm (1.25 inches long). Wingspan (not shown) is up to 50 mm (2 inches) Hosts: A variety of deciduous trees and low plants including aster, birch, elm, maple and sunflower.

Habitat:

Meadow, fields, variety of places. Range is even in the Arctic.
