True Date Palm Tree

Phoenix dactylifera

Description:

The palm tree has brown and light brown bark. It seems to have light straw like leafs before it spreads it leafs. It also has light green spear like edges. It leaves are sharp and point to many different directions. This is probably the way the plant protects itself from harm.

Habitat:

This particular palm tree is made for a desert climate like Arizona. It can stay alive in areas lower than 15 degrees in Fahrenheit. It has adapted to the climate and the huge temperature changes hers and is made for it.

Notes:

The tree can be made to make alcohol, ice cream syrup, and vinegar. Its seed can be made into soaps and certain makeups. It is named after the fruit it grows called dates.
