Small-eyed sphinx

Description:

The small-eyed sphinx moth is a member of the Hawk Moth family. Females can reach 3 inches and males usually are smaller.

Habitat:

Spotted on a moth sheet in my backyard which borders a wooded area.

Notes:

Its caterpillar feeds on cherry, hawthorn, serviceberry, and grape.
