Red Shouldered Hawk

Buteo lineatus

Description:

I saw this hawk fly down and land on a branch while I was walking in Golden Gate Park. She sat and just cocked her head at me while I approached and took several photos, and then she flew off into the brush, showing me her lovely wings. (or his?)

It's always good to have a scientific name - the red-shouldered hawk is "Buteo lineatus". :) Cool find!
