Red Knot

Description:

Largest of the peeps, and the furthest to travel for migration. Durning it's non-breeding season this bird would blend it with other sandpipers. But during breeding season the color changes as it gets a rusty orange from head to belly and some in the wings and back. Bill is Medium length and black.

Habitat:

Spotted in a salt pond near the bay
