Rove beetle

Description:

Brown insect about 4 mm long with beaded antennae and clear wings. The elytra are short and stubby with the wings extending way beyond. The black head has large black eyes. The front legs have thick femurs. I was unable to get a shot from the top view. Last image shows size compared to the leaf.

Habitat:

Young Plum tree in backyard.

Notes:

Bug Guide has this as Paederinae gen.sp.
