Wood Ear Mushroon

Auricularia auricula

Notes:

Could this be Wood Ear or Jelly Ear? I've never seen it growing so densely. I found it growing on some cut wood. Not sure of the type. The examples I see growing in my yard (on walnut) grow more as singles or at least not nearly as dense.
