Description:

The adults feed on nectar while the larvae feed in decaying animal flesh. A very well-studied fly that is attracted to anything smelly. It receives it's name from it's habit of regurgitating it's stomach contents onto it's food to begin the digestive process. Family Calliphoridae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.
