Description:

It has a highly branched shrub, fragrant, hirsute; reaches 50-150 cm tall and is fast growing. The stem is quadrangular, aguijonado. The leaves are simple, opposite, petiolate, ovate to oblong, base subcordate, acuminate at apex, serrated edge, rough and rugged in the beam. The young flowers are orange yellow, turning red when ripe. The corolla is Tubulosa, zygomorphic, ovary binocular capituliforme inflorescence. Flowers in spring, summer and fall. The spherical drupe fruit is glossy black at maturity and is 5 mm in diameter. It fruits in summer and autumn.
