caddis fly

Description:

The caddis fly larva builds a case or shel of small stones or sticks around it body and walks on the bottom of flowing streams, occupying a similar niche as a hermit crab

Habitat:

on a dahllia near my front door and porch light. Caddis flies seem to hang out after hatching and until mating, like many moths, although I haven't confirmed this
