Common Sawfly Larva

Description:

Small larva that resembles a caterpillar. Light green underneath, dark green/black above, black over most of eyes. Sawflies are a type of wasp. Covered in split spines. Feeds on Oak.

Habitat:

Sears Bellows County Park, New York. Wooded campground with mostly Oak and Pitch Pine.
