Trapdoor Spider

Description:

Its body is matte black, and the legs are shiny black. There were 3(I think) orange spots on the bottom of the abdomen.

Thanks folks sure hope its a trap door! My 5 year old was daughter was almost playing with this...... YIKES LoL it still acts very aggressive didn't know if the trap door was aggressive?

Thanks Aaron, I'll check it out but when it comes to invertebrates I don't know what to look for to ID stuff. I have been catching quite a few of these in my traps, at least they all look the same so I assume they are the same!

Check out the genus Ummidia. We occasionally see males out cruising here this time of year.
