Mycena

Mycena carmeliana

Description:

Pale brown-grey mycenas with plano-convex caps about 20mm wide. The caps showed some radial wrinkling that looked like striations. Stipes were slender with short hairs. They terminated in an orange disc (pic#4). Gills showed what looked like cross veins- ? significant.

Habitat:

Shown growing on damp wood at the base of a tall eucalyptus tree

Notes:

Very interesting find. This Mycena is probably only found in Australia and New Zealand.
