Eastern Narrow-mouthed Toad

Gastrophryne carolinensis

Description:

Only about 3 cm in length, with a true narrow-mouth. Looks more like a frog than a toad, but interestingly enough, frog eating snakes like hognoses won't touch them.

Habitat:

Edge of a mixed forest, found in the leaf litter.
