Glossy Crayfish Snake

Regina regida

Description:

The back is black and very shiny. The belly is copper colored with two rows of half moons running the length of the body.

Habitat:

Found on the road at night. Took him back to photograph him the next day, then went to release him again just to see the pond I found him near had dried up, so he was probably out looking for a new home when we found him. I took him to the next pond just a few meters down the road and released him. He's only the third of this species I have seen so it was pretty exciting :)
