Description:

Is a moth of the family Sphingidae. It is found in North Africa, Europe (except Northern Scandinavia) and Central and Eastern Asia. The wingspan is 38–48 millimetres (1.5–1.9 in). The moth flies from April to September depending on the location.

Certainly genus Hemaris, I think this is H. tityus, as it matches most well in the reference link I provided. I'd like to hear empidonax's opinion and anyone else who could shine light on this. :-)

A moth in genus Hemaris, in any case. Hemaris fuciformis seems like a good match.
