Description:

Juvenile young of short-billed rail, with characteristic pale eyebrow evident, as well as underside banding for which it is named. As a juvenile, it relies on sitting still on the leaf litter to maintain camouflage.

Habitat:

Woodland undergrowth. In this case on the grounds of a zoo.
