American Kestrel (Female)

Falco sparverius

Notes:

This little lady lives in a man-made box against the ICU at the Birds of Prey Foundation (www.birds-of-prey.org), and with all the action around by people, she was hesitant to bring her prey to her chicks. She would fly close and then swoop away and land on the electric pole, scolding us all the way! If we quietly sat and watched, she would hop inside the box and deliver her meal!

I had that similar problem with Chickadees in a box, but they eventually deliver the food. Nice spotting!
