Rosy crust fungus

Ceriporia purpurea

Description:

An unusually coloured patch of fungi with a strong rosy colour. At the margins were clean white and in the centre was a deeper, almost purple crusty depth to it. The whole patch was about 150mm long and 80mm wide.

Habitat:

In damp fern and eucalyptus dominated gully on the side of an old euclayptus log. Creek was about 50 metres away.

Notes:

Not close enough to be fully convinced. Need to see pores or tubes.
