Labidomera clivicollis
Compared to many other leaf beetles, Labidomera clivicollis is huge! It appears to have the same basic appearance of Scarabaeidae, but is actually a Chrysomelidae! What I found interesting to read about was
Larva feed on many species of milkweed.
Lifer! Part of the orange and black milkweed mimicry complex, which includes the Monarch Butterfly (Danaus plexippus) and related, Milkweed Longhorns (Tetraopes sp.), Lygaeus kalmii, Oncopeltus fasciatus, and possibly more. http://bugguide.net/node/view/2970
