Description:

Beady-eyed alert looking rodent. Back has distinct striped pattern. Bushy tail. the nest or drey was against a wall of a four-storeyed building but a flowering Rangoon creeper (Combretum indicum) hid it from sight.

Habitat:

Flowering Rangoon creeper (Combretum indicum) inside a government residential colony.

Not a problem :-) Funambulus palmarum is found further south and in Sri Lanka.

Lovely spotting Sukanya! I believe you have the Northern palm squirrel (Funambulus pennantii), also called the five-striped palm squirrel.
