Saddle-back Tamarin

Saguinus fuscicollis

Description:

These monkeys are active for rather less time per day than most primates. Groups leave their sleeping sites quite late in the morning and retire well before sunset.

Habitat:

tropical rainforest, amazon

Notes:

One of the few species of primates I was able to photograph in Colombia. Two different types of primates visited the hostel, about 2km outside of Mocoa. It figures, I would hike all day long in the forest and not see any primates and then come back to the hostel and see them there!
