Description:

Five petaled, white flower with dark purple streaking.Yellow towards the center of the flower. Red stem, narrow, lance-shaped green leaves.

Habitat:

Sears Bellows County Park, New York. Marshy area on the shore of a fresh water pond.

Notes:

Native to North America. The flowers of this plant are edible, as with all violas.
