Peregrine Falcons

Falco peregrinus

Description:

Peregrines are usually a grey/blue color with grey bars underneath, and black head. Juveniles are brown and have brown bars underneath, and brown head. Females are 30% larger then males.

Habitat:

This nesting pair with their 4 children live on the 19th floor of the old Brandywhine Building in Wilmington.

Notes:

These pictures were taken at the 6th Annual Falcon Watch in Downtown Wilmington. (Blue and orange chasing each other in first picture, blue with prey in 2nd, blue on ledge in 3rd and 4th, and finally mom with prey in 5th.)
