Description:

Low growing, shrubby plant, woody stems with greenish foliage. Sulfur yellow flowers with five petals.

Habitat:

Sears Bellows County Park, New York. Sandy soil along a woodland trail (Pitch Pine and Oak woods).

Notes:

Hudsonia tomentosa looks very similar but with gray-green foliage and grows in sand dunes and sandy openings. Native wildflower to New York.
