Acacia albeda

Description:

large beautiful expressive trees. Curley pink/orange seed pod the size of my hand.

Habitat:

Zambia

Notes:

from our old family farm. We have them on the edges of the fields - beauitiful giants. My uncle also planted rows of them in some fields as they leaf in the dry season which makes crops planted below them fair better. The Conservation Unit in Zambia uses this technique to help small scale farmers increase thier yeild substancially. The pod is very good for both the soil and for cattle. This specific tree was struck down by lightning. Like loosing an old friend.
